How to check if ChatGPT recommends your business (in 2 minutes)

To check whether AI recommends you, ask it the way your customer would: “who's the best [category] in [city]?”. If your name isn't in the answer, you're invisible to that customer. Here's how to do it right.
Step 1: think like a customer, not a business
Don't ask “what does my company do”. Ask the commercial question: “where do I buy X?”, “which consultant for Y?”. Use the customer's language, not industry jargon.
Step 2: ask all three models
ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini draw from different data — one may mention you and the others may not. A single check gives a partial picture.
Step 3: try variations
Change the city, add attributes (“cheap”, “premium”, “near me”), try both languages. Your presence varies from question to question.
What to watch for
- Whether you show up or not.
