GEO for gyms, spas & wellness: getting found when people look for care

Updated: 2 September 2026

In fitness and wellness, AI recommends whoever describes one method clearly for one specific audience. “Gym” or “wellness centre” say nothing; “pilates for lower back pain”, “training for beginners over 50” or “sports massage for athletes” answer real questions.

Method before premises

Customers aren't looking for facilities, they're looking for a solution: “what can I do about neck pain from desk work”, “how do I start exercising after years off”, “therapy for anxiety without medication”.

AI answers with methods first, then names. If yours isn't tied to any specific method or need, you never reach the second half of the answer.

Name your approaches

Reformer pilates, functional training, reflexology, energy healing, sports rehabilitation — whatever you do, name it with its established term and explain it in two sentences.

The established term is the connection point to the question. The explanation is what makes your page quotable rather than merely mentioned.

Who the practitioner is

In this field the person counts as much as the business. Customers ask “who can I trust”, and models are more careful when the subject is bodies and health.

Full name, training, certifications, years of experience, what you specialise in. Without those, the business is a building; with them, it becomes a specific person doing something specific.

The right platforms for your field

There are directories dedicated to wellness practitioners and therapists, distinct from general business ones. A listing there means something, because the environment belongs to the field.

But watch the fit: a booking platform for hair and beauty salons isn't the same as a platform for therapists. The wrong category doesn't help — it confuses.

What to do first

  • Write a separate section for each method, using its established term.
  • Add a full practitioner profile: name, training, specialisation.
  • Answer the 5 questions people ask most before booking.
  • Find 1-2 directories specific to your field and list yourself properly.

Frequently asked questions

I also work online. How do I state that?

Explicitly, and separately from your physical location. “Online sessions across Greece” is a different question from “therapist in Thessaloniki” — and you can answer both.

Are alternative therapies treated differently by AI?

Yes, models are more cautious with health claims. Describe what you do and for whom, without promising cures — that's both safer and more effective.

I'm a small studio against chains. Do I stand a chance?

On specific questions, more than the chains do. They're described in general terms; you can be the clear specialist for one method and one audience.
